Weekend Travel | My Backpack Essentials

I traveled with my daughter (3.5 yrs old) to Chicago this past weekend to see family and we had such a great time! It was nice to have one-on-one time with her because since my son was born (he is now almost 7 months old), having two kids has really divided my attention to both of my kids needs. It’s important for my husband and I to get alone time with each of our kids, so this trip was extra special as a mommy / daughter mini get-away! Here is what I packed in my backpack to take on the airplane and why each of these items was important to take with me!

Here’s the breakdown of what’s in my backpack! JuJuBe Be Right Back Backpack. Yes, it is a diaper bag but it doesn’t look like one! I have had mine for almost 4 years and it has handled many trips and is also my day backpack for carting around a toddler and an infant. I have the black one!

Steve Madden Wristlet Wallet – an affordable option that serves two purposes, when traveling I can use this wristlet as my wallet and an iphone holder when not wanting to use the backpack!

Rayban Classic Aviator Sunglasses – classic sunnies that go with any outfit and style!

Portable Phone Battery Charger – This gives me peace knowing I have a backup and won’t go without my phone running out of battery!

Johnson & Johnson First Aide To-Go Kit! – This is small and compact, perfect to have on hand if my daughter gets any minor cuts or scrapes.

JuJube Travel Accessory Bags – I LOVE these, they are waterproof, stylish, and great to take in my purse, backpack, or carry-on!

Thieves Wipes (young living) – These wipes are great to have on-hand to wipe down the tray table on an airplane and the doorknobs , light switches, etc. in a hotel! Thieves is an essential oil blend that provides immunity support and the wipes are nontoxic and clean!

Thieves Waterless Hand Sanitizer (young living)- I use this all the time, it kills 99.99% of germs, is compact in size, and is infused with essential oils which makes my hands feel soft smooth, and they smell good too!

Floral Essential Oil Roller Case – I LOVE this case and it’s floral design! It’s perfect for keeping my essential rollers in one place and I can fit 5ml essential oils in it too!

Breathe Again Roll-On (young living) – this essential oil roll-on gives me LIFE to when I have cold/sinus issues, when I’m tired and wake up early with the kids, or post-workout and I need an instant relief. This blend of oils includes peppermint and four different types of Eucalyptus. I rol it on my temples and the back of my neck behind my ears and smell in the aroma to help clear my nasal passages and feel instant relief and feel awake! This roll-on always comes with me when I travel!

Tranquil Roll-On (young living) – This essential oil roll-on is my sleep support for at home and when I travel! It is a blend of oils that include Lavender, Cedarwood, and Roman Chamomile. This roll-on is part of my nightly bedtime routine, it helps me wind down before I go to bed and I roll it on my forearms and collarbone.

Lavender Lip Balm (young living) – My lips can get dry and irritated throughout the day, so this leaves my lips smooth and it’ts infused with lavender essential oil.

Savvy Minerals Lip Gloss – Abundant (young living) – This lip gloss is always in my purse along side my lavender lip balm, it is nice to have because it adds a pop of color on my lips when I need it! This lip gloss is infused with essential oils, it naturally plumps my lips with peppermint essential oil!

Gentle Baby Essential Oil (young living) – this is an oil specifically for children (or adults) because it is already prediluted. This smells heavenly and I took it with me to help my daughter with sleep support. Sleeping in a different environment out of her own bed can be hard sometimes, so I rub this down her back at night to support her sleep and creates a calming environment when inhaled. I didn’t have room for a diffuser so this is a great alternative to just use topically.

Kleenex Slim Colorful Packages – These are small and great to have on hand if you need to blow your nose! It is nice they are slim and don’t take up too much room!
